Brazilian football would only win the World Cup again in 1981, with Flamengo. Santos was also the first Brazilian team to beat Boca Juniors in La Bombonera in an official game: it was in the 1963 Libertadores final. In 1964 Santos beat Botafogo de Ribeirão Preto by 11 x 0. Only King Pelé scored eight goals.
