Only in March of the year following its foundation, the players began to wear white shorts and a shirt with black and white stripes as their uniform.

The shield with black and white stripes had a circle in the middle with the letters SFBC (acronym for the spelling then: Santos Foot-Ball Club) and was superimposed on a colored terrestrial globe. The current shield, with the ball, the inscription S.F.C. and the stripes, appeared in 1925. In 1968, he won the two stars to represent the conquests of the two world championships.

Because it was very fragile, in the 1950s, the animal was replaced by the whale by the cartoonist Messias de Melo, from the newspaper Gazeta Esportiva. The cup went to Palestra Italia. One of the greatest players in the history of Santos, Coutinho debuted in professional football at just 14 years old in the 7-1 defeat by Peixe over the extinct Sírio Libanês, from Goiás. In 1961 Santos de Pelé lost a friendly against Olympiacos, from Greece. The feat was so extraordinary for the Greeks that it was included in the club's official anthem.
