Grupo Novos Baianos was a Brazilian music group formed in 1965 by Moraes Moreira, Luiz Galvão, Paulinho Boca de Cantor, Pepeu Gomes, Baby Consuelo and Roberto Pittigliani. The group was founded with the aim of combining traditional Brazilian music with the new rhythm of pop rock, creating a unique and innovative sound. The group was one of the precursors of Tropicália, an artistic movement that mixed elements of traditional Brazilian culture with elements of rock, and was also a pioneer in the recreation of regional Brazilian rhythms, such as samba, baião and forró. The group released four albums: "O Som É Instrumental" (1967), "Acabou Chorare" (1972), "Novos Baianos F.C." (1973) and "Brasil Pandeiro" (1975). After the group disbanded in 1976, the members pursued solo careers, but their legacy lives on to this day... Did you know?
