João had created the name of the band alone in 1970 until he joined the different formations in the following years and continued alone with the album Memória Velha (2000). made the band gain immense notoriety and recognition. Their debut album, Secos e Molhados I (1973), was possible thanks to such performances that aroused interest in record companies, and projected the group on the national scene, selling more than a million copies in the country. The name was created by João Ricardo when, in the vicinity of Ubatuba, on a rainy day, he saw a warehouse sign swinging announcing "Secos e Molhados". This caught his attention; even before the appearance of the band, the idea of the name came up.. Did you know?
