Avignon's Saint Agricola Day is on September 2nd . Agricola was a bishop known for his charity and defense of those in need. He succeeded his father, Saint Magnus, as Bishop of Avignon in 660, building a church and a Benedictine convent in the city. He is considered the patron saint of crops and storks, being venerated for his supposed miraculous interventions. His relics were transferred to the church of Saint-Agricol, where they are preserved. Saint Agricola is invoked against the bubonic plague and other adversities.
