Saint Joshua 's Day is celebrated on September 1st . Saint Joshua lived between the years 1245 and 1355 Before the Common Era or in the Bronze Age. He is best known for leading the Israelite people in conquering the promised land of Canaan and for guiding the people after the death of Moses. Moses changed the name of the firstborn of the tribe of Ephraim from Hosea to Joshua, symbolizing his role as leader. Joshua was one of the twelve spies sent by Moses to explore Canaan and one of the few who supported the invasion of the promised land. Joshua lived about 110 years and wrote the Book of Joshua, which details the events after Moses' death, including the conquests of Jericho and Ai, and the division of the land among the tribes of Israel. Although he was not canonized, Saint Joshua is considered the patron saint of spies, intelligence and professionalism.
