World Dog Day, celebrated on August 26: why is it celebrated on August 26?
World Dog Day, celebrated on August 26 , is an occasion to honor and recognize dogs, highlighting their loyalty and importance in our lives
Originated from National Dog Day, created by Colleen Paige in 2004, the objective is to raise awareness about defending the rights of dogs and combat animal abandonment. This date also marks the need to rescue and adopt dogs, regardless of breed, promoting responsible adoption. Colleen chose Today because it was the date she and her family adopted their first dog, "Sheltie." The celebration also aims to raise awareness about the large number of abandoned dogs in the world and highlight the rights of animals as sensitive beings, in addition to promoting a safe and loving environment for them.
