Saint Patricia, celebrated on August 25th
Saint Patricia, celebrated on August 25th , was born at the beginning of the 7th century in Constantinople, and was created for the Court by her lady Aglaia. Even though he was young, he showed piety and vowed his virginity to Christ, defying the marriage plans of his father, Constans II. With the help of Aglaia and some followers, he fled the city and traveled to the Greek islands and then to Italy, landing in Naples. Seeking papal protection, he went to Rome, where he discovered that his father had agreed to his wishes. He received the veil of consecration from Pope Liberius and returned to Constantinople to renounce the crown. However, the ship sank off the coast of Naples, where Patricia was rescued by sisters from a local convent. After his death, his funeral was organized by Aglaia and was attended by the city's bishop and duke. His remains were buried in the monastery of the Basilian sisters.
