Top Gun

Top Gun: Maverick is a 2020 action drama film directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced by Paramount Pictures. It is a sequel to the 1986 film Top Gun. The film follows Maverick, played by Tom Cruise, now a fighter test pilot and instructor at the Top Gun Fighter Wing Academy. The main cast also features Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, Ed Harris and Val Kilmer. The film tells the story of Maverick and his struggle to adapt to the new era of aerial warfare as he prepares to face a new enemy. This film, like the first film, again features the F-14 Tomcat, however as all American F-14s were decommissioned after 2006, its scenes are shot in CGI. Tom Cruise's involvement in this film was based on the condition that real aircraft be used in the aerial sequences, not CGI.
