The long beach of Positas
History of Flávia Rosa - Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil
The long beach of Positas, with white sand and cultivated palm trees, is a popular tourist destination with several hotels along the coast. Known as "Poços" due to the faults in the coastal reefs, it features natural pools appreciated by families with children. The entrance to the sea is gentle, but there are rocks, and the shore is shallow, although the waves can be treacherous at high tide. High season is from February to April, during the South American summer, when the ocean water reaches +24°C. Access by private car is possible from Mancora, and winter is considered the best time for a beach holiday.
