The Botanical Garden
The Botanical Garden is one of the main tourist attractions in Rio de Janeiro, located in the Gávea neighborhood. Founded in 1808, during the colonial period, it is one of the oldest botanical gardens in Brazil and an important scientific institution and for the preservation of Brazilian flora. It covers an area of approximately 54 hectares and has a great diversity of plant species, both native and exotic.
