He was born around the year 380 in Imola, Italy, and was named bishop of Ravenna around the year 433, a position he held until his death in 450. He is revered for his skills as an orator and preacher, being called "Chrysologist", which means "Golden Mouth", due to his eloquence and clarity when communicating Christian teachings. His sermons were known for their simplicity, spiritual depth, and ability to connect with audiences. Furthermore, Saint Peter Chrysologus defended Christian orthodoxy against the heresies of his time and cared for the spiritual needs of his believers. He is considered one of the Fathers of the Church and was canonized shortly after his death, being recognized as a saint by the Catholic Church.
