Saint Olaf II , also known as Olaf II of Norway , celebrated on July 10 , was an 11th-century Norwegian king venerated as a saint and martyr in Christian tradition, especially in Norway. He converted to Christianity and promoted his faith in the country, facing pagan resistance. His death at the Battle of Stiklestad in 1030 made him a martyr. Canonized in 1164, he is remembered for his quest for holiness and his contribution to the Christianization of Norway.
