Initially, before adopting the name La Casa de Papel for the series, the creators thought of calling it Los Desahuciados, which in Portuguese means The Evicted. However, they believed that "the paper house" would give more meaning to the story. While the first season was filmed entirely in the city of Madrid, Spain, other seasons were recorded in more than 300 locations in six countries, such as Denmark, Italy, Panama, Portugal, Thailand and the United Kingdom.
