Crawl swimming, or freestyle
History of Márcio Farias - Viseu, Portugal
Crawl swimming, or freestyle, is a fast and efficient technique in which swimmers keep their bodies aligned, performing alternating arm movements and kicking their legs. It is widely used in swimming competitions, especially over longer distances, due to its speed. Developed over time with contributions from different swimmers, the front crawl is a fundamental skill taught in swimming classes for beginners and is used both in competitions and for recreation and fitness.
