The Toada aspect (lyrics and music)
The Toada aspect (lyrics and music) is essential at the Parintins Folklore Festival, as the toadas are the soundtrack that accompanies the entire show. With more than 400 rhythmists, these songs rescue myths, legends and traditions from the Amazon, transmitting folklore and local culture. The songs are evaluated by the judges based on criteria such as originality, creativity, musical harmony and ability to move the audience. Composers play a crucial role in creating tunes, being responsible for lyrics and melodies that capture the spirit of Amazonian folklore. During the ox presentations, the toadas create the environment and atmosphere for theatrical performances, dances and other performances. They narrate folk stories from the region, often involving themes such as nature, indigenous traditions and Amazonian legends.
