Michael Jackson was an American singer, songwriter, dancer, record producer and philanthropist. He was born on August 29, 1958, in Gary, Indiana and died on June 25, 2009, in Los Angeles, California. Known as the "King of Pop", Jackson is considered one of the most influential and iconic artists in music history. Jackson began his musical career as a member of The Jackson 5, formed by him and his brothers. The group achieved success in the 1970s with hits such as "ABC", "I Want You Back" and "I'll Be There". His debut solo album, "Off the Wall" (1979), showcased a new, more mature sound and featured hits such as "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" and "Rock with You". His untimely death in 2009 left a lasting legacy and a void in the music industry.
