On June 6th , we celebrate Saint Marcellin Champagnat , founder of the Institute of the Marist Brothers. Born in 1789 in Marlhes, France, he dedicated his life to education and the Christian faith, especially amid the political difficulties of the French Revolution. He founded the Marist Brothers to take care of the religious education of children and young people, leaving a legacy of compassion and dedication. Saint Marcellin died on June 6, 1840, and has been remembered and celebrated ever since. His work grew, becoming a global reference in education and evangelization, present in 79 countries.
