Saint Andrew Kim Taegon 's Day is celebrated on September 20th . He was Korea's first native priest and was martyred in 1846 during the persecution of Christians. Born into a Christian family, he studied to become a priest in Macau and returned to Korea to serve the Catholic community. He faced persecution, but continued to practice his faith, being arrested and martyred at the age of 25. Canonized in 1984, he is venerated as a martyr of the Catholic Church in Korea. The day is marked by religious celebrations, masses and prayers, honoring their courage and devotion to the Christian faith.
