National Adolescent and Young People's Health
National Adolescent and Young People's Health Day, celebrated on September 22 , highlights the importance of promoting the well-being of this age group, which includes individuals between 10 and 19 years old. The Ministry of Health implemented the Adolescent Health Program (PROSAD) in 1988, targeting areas such as sexual and mental health and accident prevention. Despite existing public policies, there are still challenges in offering quality services and integrating young people into health activities. Health services must be accessible and address a range of issues, including sexual health, disease prevention and availability of contraceptive methods. Ensuring comprehensive health care for adolescents and young people is crucial to promoting their well-being and quality of life.
