On September 19th , Surgical Instrument Operator
On September 19th , Surgical Instrument Operator Day is celebrated in the country, in honor of Dr. Guillermo Bosch Arana, the first doctor to introduce this role into the surgical team. Surgical scrub nurses play an essential role in patient care from entry into the operating room until post-anesthesia recovery. The practice of surgical instrumentation originated during World War II, when military surgeons saved lives with the assistance of trained personnel. In the 1930s, in Argentina, Dr. Bosch Arana advocated the use of advanced surgical instrumentation in large surgical centers, thus boosting the development of the profession. Since then, surgical scrub nurses have kept up with scientific and technological changes, playing a crucial role in the healthcare team.
