Mean Girls is a 2004 American film directed by Mark Waters and written by Tina Fey. American actress Lindsay Lohan stars and plays Cady, a naive girl who has returned to America after living for 12 years in Africa where she grew up with her parents, to be a high school student in elite suburban Evanston. She ends up immediately being drawn into the group of popular girls led by Regina George (Rachel McAdams). Janis and her best friend Damian Hiller (Daniel Franzese) warn her of the potential disaster she is about to face. However, Cady embarks on a power play to win the attention and love of a young boy named Aaron (Jonathan Bennett). The film was based on the self-help book “Queen Bees & Wannabees”, by Rosalind Wiseman, where the author gives advice on how mothers can help their daughters overcome adolescence issues, such as groups and gossip.
