Africa will have 4 clubs in the World Cup
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has secured four places for the 2025 edition of the FIFA Club World Cup, which will be held in the United States. African teams are set to represent the continent with great force, with their qualified teams being some of the biggest names in African football.
Al Ahly (Egypt) – Considered the biggest club in Africa, Al Ahly secured their place by winning the CAF Champions League in three recent editions: 2020–21, 2022–23 and 2023–24.
Wydad Casablanca (Morocco) – The Moroccan club, winners of the CAF Champions League in 2021–22, will also be at the 2025 Club World Cup. Wydad have been a dominant force in African football and come into the tournament with high expectations.
Espérance de Tunis (Tunisia) – Having secured their qualification based on their performance rankings in recent editions of the CAF, Espérance will be another standout team at the tournament.
Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa) – Mamelodi Sundowns, one of the South Africa's biggest clubs, earned their place through CAF's performance rankings over the last four years. The South African side promises to make an impact in the tournament with their vibrant style of play.
