February 28
February 28 is the day to Combat RSI/WMSDs (Repetitive Strain Injuries and Work-Related Musculoskeletal Disorders), with the aim of alerting the population about the risks of these conditions that affect the health of millions of workers around the world.
RSI/WMSDs are a set of diseases that affect muscles, tendons, nerves and joints, generally due to repetitive movements in the workplace. Among the main symptoms are joint pain, muscle discomfort, tingling and difficulty moving, which can worsen if not treated properly.
With the increase in intense work hours and the evolution of technologies, which often require inadequate postures and repetitive movements, the number of cases of these diseases has grown significantly. The awareness day aims to inform workers and employers about the importance of ergonomics, rest breaks and preventive practices to avoid the development of these conditions.
In addition, World RSI/WMSD Day highlights the importance of early diagnosis and treatment, reinforcing the need for physical health care in the workplace.
