November 10th is Neuroendocrine Cancer
November 10th is Neuroendocrine Cancer Day. This day was established to raise awareness of neuroendocrine cancers, which are a rare group of tumors that originate in the body's neuroendocrine cells. These cells are present in many parts of the body and can develop into tumors in places such as the pancreas, lungs, intestines, and adrenal glands. The day was created in 2010 as an initiative promoted by the NET Research Foundation and other patient support organizations. The idea arose from the need to raise awareness of neuroendocrine cancers, which are often underdiagnosed and poorly understood, resulting in delayed diagnoses and, consequently, poorer prognoses.
