November 4, Chicken Lady
November 4, Chicken Lady Day, honors Dr. Marthenia "Tina" Dupree, an entrepreneur and motivational speaker recognized for her contributions to education and community. Dupree served as the Director of Community Relations and Training for the world's second-largest chicken restaurant chain, where she became known as "The Chicken Lady." She was commended by President George W. Bush, who proclaimed the day in her honor. After her corporate career, Dupree opened her own business and continued to offer workshops and seminars, as well as host a monthly radio show on black community issues. The day celebrates those who uplift their communities and encourages active participation in local causes.
