November 1st marks the start of No-Shave November
November 1st marks the start of No-Shave November , an annual campaign that takes place during the month of November and encourages men to grow beards as a way to raise awareness about cancer and to raise funds for organizations that support cancer patients. The campaign encourages people to stop spending money on shaving and facial care and instead donate that money to support cancer treatment and research. The movement was officially started in 2009 by a family in the United States who had lost their father to cancer. The idea was to promote a campaign that would draw people's attention to the cause in a creative and engaging way. Since then, the movement has spread to several countries and has become a way to remind people of the importance of prevention, early detection and treatment of cancer.
