October 26th Saint Evaristus ' Day. He was one of the first popes of the Catholic Church, being the fifth pope in history, succeeding Pope Saint Peter, and held the position between the years 97 and 105 AD. He is believed to have originated from the city of Bethlehem, in Judea. Evaristus is known for having promoted the organization of the Church, establishing norms and procedures that helped to consolidate papal leadership. He is often associated with the division of the Church into dioceses and the appointment of bishops, which was fundamental to the growth and structuring of the Christian community at the time. Although details about his life are scarce, it is believed that he died as a martyr, defending the Christian faith. Saint Evaristus' Day is an opportunity for Catholics to celebrate the faith and importance of the early leaders of the Church.
