October 27th, the Black Population Pro-Health Mobilization
October 27th, the Black Population Pro-Health Mobilization Day, was created to raise awareness about the inequalities that the black population faces in access to health in Brazil. The date seeks to promote debates on structural racism, discrimination and their consequences for physical and mental health, in addition to highlighting the importance of public policies that improve the well-being of this population. Instituted in 2009, the National Policy for Comprehensive Health of the Black Population (PNSIPN) recognizes racism as a determining factor in health conditions and aims to reduce these inequalities through actions focused on prevention, care and health promotion. On Mobilization Day, campaigns, lectures and events are held that involve health managers, professionals and the population, expanding the debate on racism and health.
