October 9th is Dessert
October 9th is Dessert Day, while in the United States it is celebrated on the 14th of the same month. The date was created to honor one of the most appreciated parts of a meal: dessert! It is an opportunity to try different types of sweets, such as cakes, pies, cookies, ice cream, puddings and chocolates. The goal of the celebration is to encourage people to indulge in their favorite desserts, whether by trying new recipes, visiting bakeries or sharing sweets with friends and family. In addition, it promotes creativity in the kitchen, highlighting the importance of desserts in food culture and culinary traditions. It is worth remembering that the Frenchman François Massialot (1660-1733) is considered the inventor of dessert as we know it today.
