Valuing Health and Well-Being: why is it celebrated on October 13?
October 13th is Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist Day in Brazil , a date established by Law No
12,802 of 2008 to recognize the importance of these professionals in promoting the health and well-being of the population. Physiotherapists diagnose, prevent and treat movement disorders, using rehabilitation techniques to improve quality of life, working in areas such as orthopedics, neurology and public health. Occupational therapists, in turn, focus on promoting health and improving quality of life through occupation, helping people develop or recover skills for daily activities, aiming at social inclusion and autonomy, especially for individuals with disabilities or injuries.
