Saint Manoel Mártir , also known as Saint Manuel , celebrated on June 17 , was an ambassador of the Persian Empire and a Christian martyr in the 4th century. During the reign of Emperor Julian, who promoted the persecution of Christians, Saint Manuel tried to negotiate peace, but was imprisoned and tortured for not renouncing his faith. He resisted torture and was beheaded in 363. After his death, the Persians defeated the Roman Empire, and Julian himself recognized the Christian victory.
