Punctuation marks

Punctuation marks are used in writing to delimit sentences or sentence constituents, represent sentence types, and graphically present intonation. Changing a punctuation mark can change the meaning of the sentence. Example: a) Alice arruma os brinquedos. (in this sentence, someone says that Alice puts away the toys; in this sentence, information is given. b) Alice, arruma os brinquedos. (in the sentence, someone tells Alice to put away the toys; in this sentence, an order is given).
