Restless Legs Syndrome
Restless Legs Syndrome Day is a day dedicated to raising awareness about this neurological condition and providing support for those who suffer from it. Celebrated on September 23 , the day coincides with the birthday of Swedish doctor Karl-Axel Ekbom, one of the first to describe the condition in detail in 1945. Restless Leg Syndrome is characterized by uncomfortable sensations in the legs, such as tingling, crawling or an irresistible urge to move them, especially during rest, which can affect individuals' sleep and quality of life. During Restless Legs Syndrome Day, a variety of activities are carried out to raise awareness, including educational campaigns, outreach events and fundraising for research and patient support.
