The Palmeiras anthem was composed in 1949 by Antonio Sergi, who was a musician, but also had another profession: he graduated as a cardiologist from the Escola Paulista de Medicina. In 1946, Palmeirense Ary Mantovani became the only player to score two Olympic goals in the same match. The only problem is that the team lost 6-2 to Portuguesa Santista on that occasion.
