In 1980, Madonna joined the musical group known as Breakfast Club, taking part as vocalist, guitarist and drummer. Two years later, she was signed to Sire Records and released her first album titled "Madonna". The following year, the artist achieved one of the greatest successes of her career with the release of the album "Like a Virgin", which became the best-selling album in the United States on February 9, 1985. In addition to being a singer, Madonna is also known as a great actress. She has acted in twenty-six feature films, nine short films, three stage plays, ten television episodes and has appeared in seventeen commercials. Her acting talent was internationally recognized when she won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical for her role in “Evita” in 1997.
