Using the initials of his name, Marshall Bruce Mathers III, Eminem created his stage name: EM-IN-EM. However, due to the existence of an iconic chocolate brand of the same name, the artist had to modify the spelling to stay clear of the confusion. After the second divorce, his addiction to drugs and alcohol escalated and culminated in an overdose of sleeping pills and painkillers, which sent a shock to the music world. As a result of this personal struggle, Eminem changed his lyrical orientation to a more uplifting tone and directed his albums 'Rehab', 'Relapse' and 'Recovery' towards that experience.
