Lord of the Rings

The Lord of the Rings is an epic fantasy adventure film trilogy based on the eponymous novel by J. R. R. Tolkien. The trilogy comprises The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001), The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002) and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003).The film tells the story of Frodo Baggins, a hobbit (being of a race similar to men who live in the fictional world of Middle-earth), who is responsible for taking the One Ring, a magic ring of destruction, to Mount Doom to destroy it. He is accompanied by other hobbits, elves, dwarves, men and other fantastic beings who unite to destroy the ring before Sauron, the Dark Lord, uses it to dominate the world. The film was hugely successful, grossing over $2 billion worldwide.
