April 10th is Engineering Day in Brazil, a date chosen to honor the founding of the first engineering school in the country, the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (USP), founded in 1893. The date aims to recognize the achievements and contributions of engineers to the development of infrastructure, technology and innovation in Brazil, in addition to promoting reflection on the advances and challenges of the profession.
Engineering plays a fundamental role in building a more modern country, with significant impacts in the areas of civil construction, transportation, energy, technology, health and the environment. With the advancement of technologies, engineers continue to transform the national reality, creating innovative solutions to society's problems.
Engineering Day also serves to recognize professionals who, with their technical knowledge and creativity, help shape the future of Brazil. Several educational institutions, professional associations and companies hold events, lectures and debates to celebrate the date, discuss trends in the profession and reinforce the importance of engineering in Brazilian society.
