Mazatlán: Mexican Pacific Coast
Located on the Mexican Pacific coast, Mazatlan Mazatlán is one of Mexico’s most vibrant tourist destinations, combining beautiful beaches, culture and a lively nightlife. Founded in the 16th century, the city prospered as an important trading port and in the 19th century became known as the “Pearl of the Pacific” thanks to its fishing-based economy and booming tourism.
Mazatlán’s beaches, such as Playa Norte and Playa Brujas, are ideal for swimming, water sports and relaxation. The Historic Center, full of restored colonial buildings, enchants with its colorful architecture, charming plazas and cultural attractions, such as the Ángela Peralta Theater. The Malecón, one of the longest seaside promenades in the world, is perfect for sunset strolls.
The city is also famous for the Mazatlán Carnival, one of the largest and oldest in Latin America. With its unique mix of culture and leisure, Mazatlán remains one of the most attractive destinations on the Mexican coast.
