February 23 is Rotary
February 23 is Rotary Day, a date that coincides with the founding anniversary of Rotary International, created in 1905 in the city of Chicago, in the United States. The celebration aims to recognize the contribution of the organization and its members in the development of humanitarian, educational and social projects in communities around the world.
Founded by Paul Harris, Rotary is a global network of volunteers that works on causes such as eradicating polio, promoting peace, fighting poverty, education and health. In Brazil, Rotary has a wide network of clubs committed to transforming lives and strengthening communities, working in line with the motto “Service Above Self”.
National Rotary Day, established by Law No. 6.843/1980, is an opportunity to highlight the positive impact of the organization and encourage participation in solidarity initiatives that promote a more just and egalitarian world.
