December 3rd is 3D Cinema
December 3rd is 3D Cinema Day to recognize the technology that allows for the filming and projection of films with three-dimensional images, providing the audience with a more realistic experience. 3D cinema has its origins in the late 19th century, with the first tests carried out in 1890. However, it was in 1923 that the first 3D feature film was presented, still without great success due to the limitations of black and white. The scenario changed in 1953 with the release of the film House of Wax, which was a milestone for 3D cinema, driven by the use of polarized filters. From the 1960s onwards, new technologies such as the Space-Vision 3D system and, later, the IMAX format in the 1980s, improved the production and exhibition of 3D films, making this format increasingly popular in world cinema.
