December 2nd is Public Relations
December 2nd is Public Relations Day, a date chosen in honor of Eduardo Pinheiro Lobo, patron of the profession and responsible for the creation of the first Public Relations Department in Brazil in 1914. The celebration was made official by Law No. 7,197 on June 14th, 1984. Public relations professionals manage the communication of organizations, including press relations, event organization and brand promotion, and are fundamental to the reputation of companies. Although December 2nd is the main date, the Inter-American Public Relations Day is also celebrated on September 26th. During these celebrations, events, forums and debates are held on the challenges and advances of the profession, reinforcing the importance of PR in the strategic communication of companies.
