Vovô Coxa, Coritiba's mascot
History of Henrique C. - Viseu, Portugal
Vovô Coxa, Coritiba's mascot, was inspired by a real character from the team's history. The German photographer Max Kopf lived a block away from the field of alviverde in Curitiba and used to follow the team's games since its foundation. When he died, in September 1956, the club held a drawing contest to choose the best representation of the mascot: an old man with a pipe.
