World Hepatitis Day, celebrated on July 28 , is an initiative by the World Health Organization (WHO) to raise awareness about viral hepatitis. These are infections that affect the liver and are caused by different viruses (A, B, C, D and E). Activities include awareness campaigns, free testing, vaccination, educational lectures and dissemination of information on prevention, early diagnosis and treatment. The objective is to inform about the risks, symptoms and preventive measures, mobilizing governments, health professionals and communities to confront these diseases and reduce their global impact.
