Saint Aurelius of Carthage
Saint Aurelius of Carthage , also known as Aurelius Episcopus Carthaginensis, was a Christian leader who lived around 430 AD. He served as bishop of Carthage from around 391, leaving a legacy of ecclesiastical teachings. Aurelius was close and admired by Saint Augustine of Hippo, with whom he worked to reform the Church in Africa during a period of crisis due to a schism. His feast day is celebrated on July 20th in the Roman Catholic Church calendar. Known as the "Saint Pope Aurelius", he is remembered for his dedication to the unity of faith. After his death, his relics were transferred to Hirsau Abbey in Germany, leaving a lasting legacy of piety and leadership in the Church.
