Marte Um is a 2022 Brazilian drama film written and directed by Gabriel Martins. Starring Cícero Lucas, Carlos Francisco, Rejane Faria and Camilla Damião, it follows the life of the Martins family, a lower-middle-class family from Contagem, Minas Gerais, during an extreme right-wing government. Wellington and Tércia, the parents, seek to maintain their dreams and ambitions, despite being at the mercy of the government. Eunice, the eldest daughter, is a law student who is afraid to admit her sexual orientation. Deivinho, the youngest son, is the main protagonist of the plot. He dreams of studying astrophysics and joining the Mars One project to colonize the planet Mars, but he is forced to abandon his dream to start a career as a football player, his father's only financial hope of raising his family.
