Aladdin is a Disney animated film released in 1992. The film tells the story of Aladdin, a young street thief who lives in a fictional city called Agrabah. Aladdin finds a magic lamp that houses a genie that grants three wishes to whoever owns it. He uses his wishes to transform himself into a prince and impress Princess Jasmine, with whom he falls in love. The film is known for its memorable music, including the song "A Whole New World", which won the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 1993. "Aladdin" was also one of the first Disney films to feature a non-white protagonist and was praised by its positive representation of Arab culture.
